It's molded plastic with various dimension to fit pretty much every small thingamabobs you might find scattered across a child's bedroom floor and desks. And your child might never grow out of it. It's still as useful to a twenty something college student as it is to a three year old.
Originally designed in 1969 by Dorothee Becker and Maurer, it's pretty pricey at $295 for the small piece, but if it's any consolation, it also comes in red.
